Our youngest girl likes to do things unplanned. So, when she told us about the trip to Angkor Wat, we confirmed with her it’s a package tour. We definitely would not want to sleep in the open, like what she almost ended up in
We shouldn’t have trust her!!! The travel vouchers issued clearly stated it’s a Free and Easy Trip. What to do? When the children were young, they follow our way. Now it’s our turn to follow theirs. At least, she was kind enough to book the hotel in advance.
And to our surprise, a driver and a Chinese speaking guide were arranged. But…15mins passed the meeting time, the guide did not appear! Luckily the driver was here so we went off without the guide. We found out later that he did not appear at all. What an experience for us!
The weather was so hot! Regardless the amount of water intake, it just evaporate within minutes… we were in sauna 24hrs… worse than
Our girl told us according to the guide book, we would need to “walk a little” before we can reach Kobal Spien. However, we didn’t only WALK, we need to CLIMB up rocks and steep stairs!!! And we didn’t bring enough water, it took us almost an hour before we reached destination!! And of course, that’s not the end, we had to take the same route down!
Finally four days passed and its time to go home… The "organiser" asked, “Did you enjoy the trip?”
Hmm… The trek was tough, the weather was hot, we can’t adapt to the food, all the Wats look the same to us….But we found a casino which we went every night and the morning before we flew back home, ha ha…
Well, after much thought, our answer was, “Next time we go
And her reply was, “Next trip we take public transport.”
Oh gosh! Think it’s better for us to take back our words!
