For macros lens, u have to use small aperture due to the shallow DOF. usually, have to use f/16 to f/32 depending on your subject. The bigger the magnification, the smaller the aperture --- assuming the same distance between the lens and the subject.

以前一直不明白为什么朋友喜欢拍macro，今天心血来潮跟姐夫借了macro lens，才发现原来透过macro lens，可以看见很多平时看不见的。近距离，其实也可以很美，而且可以让人以不同的角度去看待事物。难怪当我投诉说怎么都拍不出好照片时，朋友会叫我去尝试macro。也许，真的是换一个镜头，换一个角度，转一个念头，就是一张好照片。

well depending on what/how you wan to shoot, i use anything from f2.8 to f32 in my macro photos. usually the enemy is the wind :p
wah so good can borrow from brother in-law...he got external flash not? can borrow from him? ;P
