PY gave me a fighting fish. It is so pretty that I tempted to name it Beauty@小美,but decided to spare it from identity crisis. So, its name is now Hunk@小帅. Ok, I noe the name is abit song3, but cannot expect too much from a lazy owner like me right?
This is the first time I am keeping a fish, and I am completely lost. What to feed it with? How to change water? *fainted*
And poor 小帅，it starved for two days before it got its first meal, cos I couldn’t find food for him. 
Luckily it is a sturdy fish and it survived. However, its trauma has just started.
Last night, my brother in law and I was trying to take its picture, with the help of an online guru. I think 小帅don’t like the flash, and we were so scared that we will blind him. So, no nice picture taken, but we decided not to torture him further.
Early this morning, I changed the water for him. I was trembling… and my sis called out to him : ‘good luck! Xiaoshuai!’ Ha ha… and in the end, she has to lend me a helping hand..
Well, it is a long learning process for me… and I hope it can have a little patience with me. I bet we can get along well

a fighting fish longest lifespan around 18months. don't need to feed too much. :)

should keep luohan...can fight with xiao shuai...hahahaha
You can put a waterplant leaf inside the small bowl to make him feel more secure. He is a pretty little fella. I had a friend who put her fighting fish inside a tall clear drinking bottle and put a water plant inside. They are very hardy and live in puddles in rice fields. They can survive out of water for a long time (30 mins at least, some say hours if kept moist) and have known to last as long as 10 years in laboratory conditions. Some friends have successfully kept them for 6 years- but it may be a different breed. One of my female bettas jumped out of her little bowl when she got furious at the male in the next bowl. We didn't know until who knows how long- gasping only when we saw that she was no longer in her bowl. My mom later found her in the plate of the plant near the window. We threw her back in the water and she was fine. She didn't like the male though so when Philip put her in to mate with him- they fought like crazy. They both died from injuries a few weeks later.
hehe... maybe that's a gay and lesbian fish. no wonder they dun like each other n fight till die.
18 mths is soooo short, ok, i will try to stretch it lifespan to 6 years :P
